I love this book, it's not particularly long but it has plenty of tasks to start off with and basic "house rules" to start training your own service dog. The tasks are labeled at the top right hand corner with what type of service dog they can be used for. She labels them with guide dog, hearing, medical alert & response, mobility and psychiatric.I'm training a psychiatric service dog and I didn't expect much, but almost all of the tasks were labeled multi-use as well as a whole chapter devoted to psychiatric work. The tasks are very well explained, especially useful for first-time SD trainers.There is a chapter labeled "How to get your service dog certified" which is somewhat misleading at first, but she goes on to explain that there is no official certification process and explains about the many scam online certification processes there are out there.Overall, a good book to get you started task training and learning about training your own service dog. She does not go into basic obedience and I recommend getting a separate book if that is something you need help with. It focuses solely on service dog work.
